Emergent Strategy Mindset
In a fast-changing world, strategy can no longer consist of sticking to a predetermined, long-term course of action. What is needed instead is an emergent strategy mindset: the ability to maintain a coherent strategic policy while launching, within the framework of this defined policy, successive initiatives that are responsive to changing conditions on the ground.

This of course should not be confused with ill-defined objectives, or with mere opportunism, which lacks strategic direction. To apply emergent strategy requires putting in place a management platform that enables the company to connect clearly defined goals with transition processes.
